Where does God live?
Why does God let (x) happen to (y)?
Where was God when (z) occurred?
I don’t know.
I won’t answer those questions – I just don’t know.
While in this blog, I will address the Christian God, I suppose many of my questions, thoughts, prayers could certainly be applied to Vishnu, Allah, Buddha, Zeus, or even the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
Sometimes I’ll be glib, perhaps ask things that you may even find blasphemous. But these are my thoughts, my prayers, my questions. If you get offended, don’t come back. I’ll even make the occasional joke on here – God has a sense of humor.
I’m not here to judge your place, your thoughts, or your faith. Nor am I here for you to purposefully try to eviscerate mine.
I’m not a Republican, I don’t hate anyone. Quite the contrary – I think that Christ said that the ultimate commandment is to love one another – and that’s good enough for me. He didn’t say “Love one another, unless …” or “Love one another, but only if they follow these rules.” To me, Jesus was a hippie – he loved all without question, yearned for peace, and wanted us to see that God, ultimately, isn’t a lightning bolt wielding megalomaniac, but instead a being that has only humanity’s best interest at hand.
I do my best every day to love others. I’m not perfect. I’m not clergy. I’m just a simple person out here, asking my questions of God in public as well as in the privacy of my own room.
When I ask questions, please, feel free to answer them. I may find your answer wrong, or disagreeable, but I’ll not take away your right to believe as you do, nor should you take away mine.
May you find peace and love in all that you do.
